The Lacaille 8760 Affair:: Day 113

These flowers I dedicate to my three moms.

First and foremost to my own mother. Now I don't want to get all sappy here, but living 3000 miles away from the one woman on whom you've relied on your whole life, if a difficult feat. I'm a mama's girl through and through. Even though we talk from anywhere between 6 and 30 times a week, it's just not the same as dropping in anytime to say hello, going shopping, getting my hair done, going out to eat, splashing in the pool, playing board games, card games and dice, smelling dinner, decorating cookies, dressing the christmas tree, going to the library, or any of the other thousands of activities we've done together throughout both childhood and adulthood. But. We know we love each other and that keeps us going well enough. Proximity is a luxury but love knows no distance or bounds.

To my other two mothers, Nick's mother Theresa and step-mother Tracy (we call her Crowe), I am eterally greatful for what you have both added to my life. How did I get so lucky to have these three wonderful strong women to guide me and love me?

I can't express enough how these woman have affected me, how every email or phone call warms my soul; how every comment on my pictures or my stories makes me feel loved and important. I can't wait to spend time with each of you when I come home in June.

I love you mom.
