The Lacaille 8760 Affair:: Day 120

Okay so you all have to bear with me here. These are the first shots (other than the FIRSTshot in the set) from my new camera. I have no idea how to use it yet as I haven't had time to sit and read the manual. Also, there was no post-production on these at all. I swear I will figure out out to use it asap!

That being said, I do love it, but hell it's intimadating.

Today we woke up in our wigwam and decided that continuing in the essence of our road trip spirit, we would check out some of the old Route 66 in the area.

We ended up at the site of the First McDonald's Ever! Although it's not a functioning McDonald's anymore, there now stands a creepy little museum, run by a selfdeprecating kind of character who I'm sure goes home at night wondering why he lives in this crappy town, working day in and day out, all alone and the McDonald's museum. Needless to say, we had an excellent time with this man as our vastly informative tour guide. I think he even welcomed us in saying "Welcome to our shitty little museum" and saw us off by telling us "I wouldn't take my chances in this part of town" when we asked him where we should grab a bite to eat.

After we got the hell out of San Bernardino [never to return], we came home and went to the beach in Santa Monica for the rest of the afternoon. Or should I say, we spent two hours DRIVING to the beach [15 miles away] and then sun bathed for an hour until the sun went down.

Overall, it was just our kind of weekend! We packed in a lot of new and exciting activities and we're finally starting to get around and feel like we really live here. From Griffith Park to the Jazz club, and wigwams to the beach, I had an unforgettable 25th birthday.

Thank you to everyone for all of your birthday wishes and gifts. I'll try to be catching up in the next few days, but no promises. I'm crazy busy!
