This morning we actually woke up at such a reasonable hour that our meal may really be called breakfast. We met up with Nick's father at Panera for coffee and bagels and surfed around a bit on the free internet looking for new cheap housing in LA for the upcoming year.
After a bit my mother joined us and eventually we said goodbye to Jim and headed up the road to my mother's shop where both Nick and I got some much needed hair care. Nick's hair was totally long and out of control, and while I love it either way, it really looked spectacular after the cut. I of course, not having any professional color for nearly a year, took full advantage of the opportunity.
Looking fresh and feeling good, we knew that we were ready to go out and tackle...the thrift shops. We went to our favorite Salvo in the heart of one of the worst neighborhoods in the city (that may not be true...but seriously). Of course we also had to hit up nearby Armory Square, home of
Sound Garden so that Nick could try to sell some used CD's. However I just ended up spending money buying cheesy DVD's (Hook and Conpiracy Theory). Good times.
After our Syracuse extravaganza, we headed back to our own neck of the woods for a most fantastic meal of stuffed shells and fried zuccini. I never knew, but I'm a big fan of the zuccini. Totally delicious. Of course, Jim can't go wrong with the shells either and with two HUGE pans, we were out for the count after pan one.
The rest of the night we totally veggitated at both of our respective parental abodes. We decided late after much deliberation that our planned road trip to Buffalo was going to have to be called off do to the severe prices of gas and the total ridiculousness of driving all day, using two tanks of gas AND paying for expensive meals in Canada at the Falls.
Instead we decided to keep it local so we finished the night by letting our friends know we'd be sticking to B'Ville and surrounding areas...then we hit the hay.
Cheers.
