The Steamboat Motel

2008.04.03

There is a pool just inside these windows.

I do not think I would want to be rescued by this dented life boat. ;o)

These poor little ducks were trying hard to get away from the brisk and furious wind, They were resting under a semi truck.

This was a sight I had not seen before.

The mallard decided he did not like my presence, so I left.

Bird on a wire...? ;o)

As you can see, not all of the ducks were complaining about the weather. There were several just hanging out and enjoying the water.

This has got to be one of my favorite shots of a mallard. I love the green feathers, the velvety browns, the bright yellow bill and the orange feet.

I like the purple feathers that are almost hidden from our view.

This guy just stood there in the road like well take my picture and move on out of here...I did, but obviously it was not fast enough, because he scurried into the water a little peeved with me.

This is the opposite, and apparent front side of the Inn/motel. The red, white and blue are very patriotic and festive. At night, the lights make it very inviting to stay there.

This motel is in the Lancaster area. At night it is absolutely gorgeous with all its lights glowing in the dark, it can been seen from far away. It was such a unique design, that I had to put into my little photoblog. This photoblog is going to be my journal as I go through Graduate school, it will keep all the wonderful things I have seen in my travels during the course of my schooling.

oldbabe First a caboose motel and now a steamboat motel. Will wonders never cease?

photopoet Good luck in graduate school—it's a good diversion! Is Photoblog a diversion for grad school or grad school a diversion for Photoblog?
It certainly sounds like a fun way of capturing the sights.

I like the ducks—especially the 20th photo. That is one pensive fellow.

777STAN CJ, if I stay at the Steamboat Inn, should I expect the accommodations to only be water-beds? :} Great Set! Fine Job! :)

777STAN "Wow! A boat on dry land!" I wonder if that's the reaction that Noah got for 120 years? :)
