The green in the pond is not algae, it is a pond shade coloring to keep the algae down. These lily pads have really thrived well with this treatment.

I have travelled back and forth among our outside furniture pieces, taking in the views from each. And also, to catch a better view of the birdies at the feeder.

For the past few summers I have been blessed to have these finch feeding from our bird feeder. If you enlarge this photo you'll see that the one on the right is green. Last year we counted 8 different finch that came on a regular basis. It was easy to do this because some of them would sit on the telephone wire and wait for the others to eat.
Also, on the far right, you can catch a glimpse of the cardinal's tail. I have seen him a lot, but have not spotted any females yet this year.

I have five of these day lily plants planted along the curve of our parking lot. They are all flourishing very well this year. It was a lot of work pulling up this grass. It is a hard area to maintain, because of the traffic, cars and people. The mulch tends to thin out and goes to only God knows where, but I still like this look better than the grass!

It is that time of year to capture the beetles before they eat up all of my plants.

Keeping the branches that grow along the fence down to a minimum can be a lot of work.

This hens and chick plant has really grown and is outgrowing its container. I am going to leave it for now though, because I like its look.

This is a male, it is of the hen and chicks' plants I have. It is pollination time. At the top of it, it will bloom little flowers, and then spread its seeds. I have been blessed with these plants, and in return have been able to bless others with them too. These plants are a favored, because they are easy to maintain.

These are the flowers that were bursting to come out in the frame above, their flowers do not stay for very long.

This is my view as I lay down on my swing and look straight up.
Oh, how pleasant this time was. I can't wait to get home and do it again.

Yesterday, I returned to school after being home for two weeks, I had a nice little break between summer sessions. And before that I kept coming and going on Mondays and Thursdays. I wanted to spend as much time with my son as I could before he went off to college.
The first week we made three trips to NYC for his orientation- they had to audition for placements in their dance and voice classes, etc. We did all of it in the midst of his high school graduation ceremony. That was quite a whirl wind of a week!

Glad to have you back- sit down and rest already!! R
You were deserving of a break and it looks like you took it... good for you! I relaxed right along with you as I was looking and reading. It's exciting (and scary, and sad) times as the kids head off to become independent!
Where have you been? Creating a wonderful garden ... Methinks that school will be restful after your whirlwind visits to NYC. I love your photo of the dog. Nice set.
