Carley You have such beauty in Porto.....including the buildings! I stand in awe and amazement because we have nothing like this in California. What I enjoy about this set (besides the sheer beauty of the building and its details) is the way you show and use light. I love the lacy glass dome and the way it echoes the shapes of the railing of the building, and the way it highlights and frames the other buildings outside of it. And the bits of light and sky that show through the windows among the paintings.... And I love the way the light makes the individual bottles of wine and the glass around it glow and shine! Beautiful set!!

Cabecilha Carley :)

Thank you once more for your inspiring words! California does have... YOU and that's beautiful!

It was also great that you mentioned the wine (bottle) photos: because that was another message from this set; I could just have shown the building but I chose to show the event as well... because it's a way of saying "that's how you can manage to keep old buildings: with things happening there... from the private sector, I mean business and companies, not just cultural events".
This building belongs to the Associação Comercial do Porto and so there is a lot of trade meetings and small fairs and, like I tried to show here, those events do not necessarily make the space ugly and sometimes can really make an interesting contrast... and best of all you are not always complaining to/about the government and "its" mission of taking care of all the historical buildings in the country!
