This is one of the categories that distinguish the entries in this blog, and tells the Story of Vantag as an art gallery. In this one we are telling you about future projects and so it says "next" instead of saying Vantag 8 or Vantag 9.
Marga's original title is "PROYECTO. Días de Desasosiego" that I translated to "days of unrest"... see the text below.

Marga wanted me to remind you that, with the exception of #12 (to be seen in a future post), all the other photos presented here are still montages and not direct photos of the finished work. She is a sculptress and these are threedimmensional works.

PROJECT: Days of unrest

In this project I give priority to its narrative rather than to its constructive aspects, which were so present in the rest of my artistic production.

“Days of Unrest” (or Restlessness) is the result of a reflexion about living and the assimilation of our surroundings. This happened after I suffered a deep personal crisis that led me to the need to try and rebuild my broken identity and create another place where I could live.

In all the pieces that form this project there is a photographic image of my own full body or parts of it, stressing the tension between the perceived image and the monochromatic surface.
All the photographs within the project were done in black and white because they were the most trustworthy for the proposed narrative.

From the dozen pieces that constitute this project, nine are formed by two or three different volumes. In one of those volumes there is the photograph, while the others are monochromatic surfaces lacquered in black or white or red. In three of the pieces (#8, #9 and #12) there is a methacrylate board where my intervention is of a gestural nature.

The predominance of formal simplicity is evident in all the pieces with the exception of #12, where I introduce a rather chaotic network of ropes.

This project was sponsored in 2001 by Fundación Arte y Derecho (Spain) within “Propuestas: V convocatoria de Ayudas a la Creación Visual”.

GALERIA VANTAG EXHIBITIONS

GALERIA VANTAG reopened in two new venues, with photographs by A. De Lima:
SALA QUINTA- at Quinta do Casal - Ponte de Lima
(GPS coordinates: North 41º 43m 20s West 8º 38 m 20s)
and
SALA SIZA – at Casa da Eira – Moledo do Minho / Portugal

The vernissage took place May 16th at 17 PM, in the first of this places: SALA QUINTA
There were sights but also sounds to celebrate Spring with the Fam' art Ensemble -» Cristina Veloso and Ana Filipa Costa (violins), Georgina Carneiro (cello) and Joana Lopes (vox).

patience my friends... we have at present 4 (yes, four) exhibitions with A. De Lima (Primavera) and 2 more coming next in 2009 and 2 under discussion for 2010.

but Marga had such great support that i will be taking care of her soon!!!
