Handel's Theodora is an oratorio, which is like an opera but more focus on music and not theater. This one didn't have costumes or a set, but it had singing and acting. [Video/Insider with music bits of Theodora]
It sure was brand new to me! I didn't know what to expect, but I was excited, interested, and heck, I got all dressed up for it. (Also, it was FREE for UNT students, so I was all up on that offer to see a live oratorio).
I also wish I had brushed up on music knowledge because I was just like "hubba whaaaaa!!" at everything. It was like a mix of the two things I'm totally jealous of (and not good at. Therefor I try to ignore and pretend like it's not important to me): playing an instrument and singing.
I was in awe.
I seriously almost cried because I was so amazed. I hope nobody saw the super watery, puppy-dog eyes I was making. I had to keep them open in fear that the tears would fall out if I blinked (and it wasn't even during a sad part)...
The conductor was powerful and leading, the orchestra in perfect sync, the choir amazing every where I turned to look, the soloists, PROS.
And then I was zoned out a little.
But back in awe again.
And everything they said was in song.
Everything.
And... it ended in sadness. :(
I got these pictures because unfortunately no pictures were allowed during performance. I would've snuck a few anyway, but I was pretty much in the front row! Hehehehe

I ALWAYS cry when I watch live performances! Ben expects it already, I think. He keeps looking over to me to catch when I've started crying so he can put his arm around me and rub my back, lol. So I know how you feel!
