I just thought these were cute dogs, I haven't seen the breed before. A bit like tall Oscars. Sadly too slow to get their faces but I kind of like this one anyway.

We visited a traditional Venetian lace studio where they still make lace by needle. The piece she's holding up took 7 ladies 8 months to complete. Each lady specialises in a specific stitch and never does any other kind. So they take turns to fill in the bits needing their specialty stitch. They have apprentices who learn all the stitches and then decide which is their best and master that over 3 years or so. This one costs 1100 Euros.

Trying the Venetian cakes with Harriet. After being so eager to try a traditional Cannoli it turns out it's full of orange rind. Yuck!! Super disappointed. Luckily the raspberry tart was incredible! These guys in Europe can make great pastry!
