Did you know some people had a third bone in the occipital? It's rare. I wonder what it does and how are the people different. (I m on about the worming bone, the one in the middle there)

Frontal bone: A bastard bone, linked with so many little bones everywhere. But then I quite like it too.

Occipital bone: A very strange bone. That's the version of the occipital that most people have on them, without a spare bone. Oh yeah, and this drawing has had some ionised water spilled on it, as well. It adds nice shadows. Very artistic

I also had to do an essay on health...It's really not my thing, I hate writing essays and this is particularly unworked on! I waited till the last minute to do it! As usual!!! And the result is possibly only passable! I have not followed any of the directions they used to teach us at school, about writing a good essay. Sod school anyway! Lets hope the next homework doesn't have an essay.
What is health?
Health, states the dictionary, is a a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Since there is life, there is death, and there is disease, as a reaction of the organism to put itself back in balance.
Health definites a state of good physical functionning, according to traditional medicine, but it is not only physical, it is also mental, spiritual and emotional.
Most people with no apparent disease, or unwellness, are labelled "healthy" . Though, it is so untrue that someone who looks healthy and is never ill is actually in good form, particularly in our western world, as often, a healthy looking person who is never ill, never has those body cleansing colds and flues, are sometimes unaware that something deeper may be going on.
When ill, health is often recovered using quick fixes and immediate medicine, as most GP's or traditional doctors prescribe, like antibiotics, pain killers, and the like, to help the person 'get rid' of the illness, or at least, of the symptom.
There is a saying that in China, doctors only accept payment when the patient is entirely cured, and there is in this case a big enphasis on actually helping the patient get better, rather than charge him everytime for more prescriptions which will possibly agravate the cases in the long term. Chinese doctors also put a big emphasis on the wholeness of the patient, looking at their bodies, mind and spirit as a whole, and do not isolate illnesses.
A statement from classical homeopathy, is that when someone is ill, and he is treated directly on this area, focusing on the disease itself, and applies a remedy for it, the patient may look like he has got better but in fact has buried the disease under a less obvious, more dangerous position.
For example, I was said by a homeopath that treating someone against excema, and giving them cortisone creams or chemical creams to apply locally, that will "erease" the excema away, stopping it showing on the skin, will often transform the disease in something deeper, like Asthma. The illnesses the most benign are the ones which show on the surface, but when treated as an independant symptom, will only agravate and go further in, one step at the time .
Disease is an intellligent response from the body to heal, as Dc Jealous says in his article, and Andreas Moritz states in his one of this books that;
"Infection is a normal phenomenon in nature, whenever there is something that needs to be decomposed. Bacteria never attack, or infect something that is as clean, vital and healthy as a well nourished fruit hanging on the tree. Only when the fruit becomes overripe, lacks nurishment,or falls to the ground can bacteria begin their clean up job..."
And he explains that is why in the human body, disease happens. Which would explain for example infestations by fungi or candida in certain people, if their intestines and liver was mal-functionning and stocking a lot of waste matter... As un underlying cause, their life force is probably unable to be present in a strong way.
Going back to health also means considering our own responsability for our well-being, as patients, and understanding why we have this dis-ease at this point in time, and looking at our thoughts, past, and emotions. It is said that so many diseases are caused by emotions which don't come out and store themselves in the tissues or cells of the body. Part of healing, I think, is going through our baggage, and dealing with it, as well as considering our unwellness. Health is slowly achieved in that case with stronger and higher realisations from the patient about themselves and their purpose, and their own behaviours, their own life.
To be unhealthy is a bit of a blessing in a way, because it allows us to question ourselves...Someone who has been healthy all their lives may never question their thoughts or question their essence of health, but then they may just be v very balanced beings who were born very wise and not need to?
Health is a mystery. But it also is, a matter of letting nature follow its role, and being there as an observer, watching it unveil its intelligence.
mmhhh. There are 2 years of this course, and I have done one seminar so far... (one month) I am just a bit desolate that there are so many bones in the head!! Why couldn't it be simpler?
Great words! I like your artworks but your thoughts too! I agree: Chinese doctors are a great referent. The healt is not a bussines nor a medecine or a medical treatment! It´s a holistic concept. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes!
