It could be an auto part (*shrug* as its actual size is far larger and shorter than a slinky) hanging off one of the branches on the right side. In order to capture this image, I had to stand close to the tree and tilt the camera (click on View EXIF data icon). As you can see here, the resulting effect is like Jack and the beanstalk, or more believable, a tree at the peak of a mountain.

Here's a photo of a squadron of pigeons flying overhead. Those on the right look as though either they're flapping their wings to blow the clouds away, or they're being blown away by a gust of wind. I've only seen geeze and ducks (migratory birds) do the V-formation.
