July 3: View From the Top

Gee it's handy having a revolving restaurant in the city -- it's an easy one-stop city viewing spot for our visitors. We've only lived in Perth for a short time, and tonight we visited the 33rd floor restaurant for the umpteenth time to "show off the lights" (like they're ours!?)

This time we took Jacynthe (from Montreal). One of our waiters had a French accent, and although the naive Aussies all assumed he was from France, Jacynthe assured us he was French-speaking but not French. Sure enough, he informed us he is from the French-speaking side of Switzerland.

I guess this is like us being able to discern an English accent whereever we travel...

Today I am thankful for diversity, and the richness in uniqueness.
