August 26: Market Frenzy

Today was just one of those Sundays where nothing got achieved before 1pm. Not even breakfast. So by the time we got in the car and drove around Dullsville looking for a restaurant that was open, we were STARVING. Eventually we ended up in Fremantle wandering around the markets.
To stave off the starvation I had two samosas from the Indian takeaway. Then we found a sushi train where we dug into sushi, ramen, miso soup and beef curry. After that we helped ourselves to tailor-made ice-creams. Boy Wonderful was into his third helping of lemon sorbet when he mentioned, "this has been a great day so far, thanks Mum!"
By the time we'd finished gluttonising, we wandered back into the markets and found that it was "sell-off" time - that time of the day when the fruiterers try and flog off their stock before the markets close for the week.
We were in stitches at the competing "ONE DOLLAR!" calls from the stall holders, and even threw a few in ourselves to keep the vibe going. Boy Wonderful haggled over a huge punnet of strawberries and walked away with it for $2 - wow!
Today I am thankful for the abundance of fresh produce we have in this country.
