On the way home from shopping for dinner, Boy Wonderful and I noticed a fire on the horizon.
"Wouldn't that be funny if it was our house," we joked.
The close we got to home, the more realistic this joke was becoming. The plume of smoke was coming from exactly the location of our house!
"I hope Jacynthe is alright," I said, thinking of our au pair, "and that she's got the dog out of there."
Then we started prioritising what else we hoped she'd rescued from the inferno before fleeing for her life.

Today I'm grateful it wasn't our house on fire after all, but BW did get a lesson in what to grab in case there ever is!
