Finally got organised and headed for San Diego today. The plan WAS to go to Sea World but we didn't have their address (it wasn't printed in our crappy City Pass tickets.)
We phoned the office and the recorded message said that the address was "500 Zero Drive". I subsequently punched this into the GPS and off we went.
HOURS and many wrong turns later, we finally found the real directions to Sea World. Parking was not included in the ticket price -- "OF COURSE NOT!!!!" (This is becoming our standard reply to all the hidden costs that present themselves whenever we use a City Pass ticket), but we did manage to get there in time to catch a dolphin show. This is a picture of me with a cryptic message for City Pass.
This evening we went to the Kansas City BBQ diner -- the location in the Top Gun movie where Tom Cruise meets up with Kelly whats-her-face at the end of the movie. Inside the bar many visitors have left souvenirs of their visit -- business cards, currency, bras.... Boy Wonderful tried for something different and left his jocks hanging outside under the awning.
Today I am thankful we are still safe after our first day of driving in (sc)America.
