Jan 3: Spruce Goose on the Loose!

We were casually driving from Portland heading for Lincoln City when we came across an air museum. I suggested to Gavstar that he should drive in and take a look.

Wow-weeeeee, the museum turned out to be the home of the legendary Spruce Goose (the world's largest boat-plane built by Howard Hughes -- the dude portrayed by Leonardo deCaprio in "the Aviator").

It was mind-blowing. And to think, after $24million to build it, it only flew for one minute before it was sidelined.

Today I am thankful for chance discoveries.
