Jan 31: Safari Scam?

We had to look twice today at this flat-bed truck on Caves Road -- it has a smattering of seats bolted to the tray and a big billboard advertising "kangaroo safaris" -- you too can climb aboard to see the kangaroos come out at sunset for only $30 per adult.
OMG, this had us belly-laughing -- do tourists really consider paying this when they could just drive to the nearest paddock and watch the 'roos come out by the hundreds? Is it ethical to charge such $$$ to watch something that is a natural occurence? Is this what the American tourist operators were thinking when they set up the many scams we came across during our recent trip?
That last question, of course, got Boy Wonderful and me chatting and remembering about all the scams and the consequent "Scottish Stunts" during our trip to America.
Today I am thankful that such chance sightings can lead BW and me into hours of "Memory Lane" conversation.
