Feb 17: Fads and Swans

Boy Wonderful woke up this morning determined to learn the art of riding his mate's unicycle. Therefore had a morning of "mum, look at me! look at me!"

(He never did get more than a couple of metres on it)

Came back to Perth in time to have a BBQ on the South Perth foreshore. In typical form, Gavstar connected with a bloke using the neighbouring BBQ who is also a pilot and also from Cowaramup. Gavstar seems to have a talent for weeding out these random connections.

Although I've always seen heaps of black swans on the river, I've never seen them approach the picnic tables before. Daughter-in-law Piper (an aspiring animal documentary maker) naturally loved the visit, and came up with many brilliant ways to take the swan home disguised as a handbag, exotic dog, dress....

Today I am thankful my step-daughter seems to be finally coming around to the idea of having a little brother or sister.
