Feb 28: Back to Work

2008.02.28

Remember how my office looked BEFORE baby?

Well, here's how it looks now. It smells of baby, sounds like baby, and looks like baby -- how lucky can a mother get?

Notice the teddy bear sitting next to my printer? I've had this bear for quite a few years but have never named him, so took him along to the "New Year New Beginnings" workshop at the Wild Woman Weekend to see if I could connect with the name he was meant to have.

Turns out he did get a name, but it's a bit of a story... last year I was seeing lots of 11:11 numbers around me and talked about this with Gavstar and Boy Wonderful. Then while in America I was seeing 222 everywhere and commented on it to BW. In reply he said that he too had been seeing recurring numbers everywhere: 8:08, that spells "BOB" on a digital clock. He'd also been hearing/seeing Bob everywhere in conjunction with 8:08 - on numberplates, store names, and even a boat called Bob.

I was really touched that he'd listened to my experience with 11:11 and chose to open his consciousness to symbols around him too. So when we were naming the Dragon Pool at the Wild Woman Weekend and one of the girls suggested "Bob" as a name, that pretty much sealed it for me. So now the bear's name is Bob, and it fits him like a glove :-)

At the time (before baby), I recall wondering if I'd go through the same process when it comes time to naming baby. I thought perhaps the recurring 222 would have something to do with it... like we'd name her "Bebbi" or something ("b" being the second letter of the alphabet and all). Little did I realise the recurring 2s were whispering her birth date instead ;-)

Anyhoo, it's back to work as usual (only10 times slower). I'm interrupted many times each hour to gaze at baby, take a power nap, catch excess milk in my ever-present towel... Baby is such a good feeder she has ripped my nipples apart, hence the new-style uniform I'm wearing ;-)

Today I am thankful my husband can make me laugh -- he was relentless as he chased me around with a camera to catch my "uniform" for posterity.
