April 3: Pulling an All-Day'er

What's the opposite to "I pulled an all-nighter?" If it's "I pulled an all-dayer" then that's what the Little Star did today.

The LS is six weeks old on Friday (tomorrow) so it was time for her 6-week check up with the child health nurse. I thought it would be a nice outing to take her in the pram... NOT! She screamed the whole way there, the whole time she was there, and all the way back home again. Normally a mother might expect to have people stop and ask the likes of, "oooh, how old?" and "what's her name?"... but no, not today. Today I got "she's not very happy!" and "oooh I'm glad I'm not dealing with that!"

And just to make sure I didn't get the message that she had the mother-of-all-belly-aches, she screamed all afternoon and into the evening as well.

Oh well, the upside of this story is that today I discovered a homeopathic solution for colic. It didn't settle her straight away, but it did make her fart for two hours straight! Musta been a lot of wind she was holding onto, because she eventually settled down in time for a 10pm bedtime.
