Q: How do you get two grown men to pull faces and goo-gaa?
A: Put a baby on the cusp of smiling in front of them...
After 20 minutes of pleading with the Little Star to *please smile* (!!!) my two heroes were finally rewarded with a big beam. My guess is that she took so long b/c she was so darned perplexed about why two grown men were pulling faces and goo-gaaing at her!
This afternoon we planted two trees - one for the Little Star, and to avoid jealousy issues, one for the Boy Wonderful.
We had a little burial ceremony for the LS' placenta under her tree, (highlighted by BW's threat of permanent emotional scarring if he was made to look at it).
Then, to avoid jealousy issues (again), we had to find something organic to bury under the BW's tree... it took a bit of convincing, but BW finally accepted that chook poo (rather than sourcing another placenta) would help his tree thrive.
Today I am thankful that the whole family gets involved with these little ceremonies that will be remembered forever.
PS We only planted two trees today, but I do support an organisation called
Rainforest Rescue that plants acres of trees each month -- if you're so inclined, support them if you can!
