April 22: Happy Gavstar Day

Gavstar woke up this morning to a ... SLEEP IN!

The Little Star, bless her, slept for nine hours straight - it was as though she knew it was her daddy's birthday so she gave him a lie-in. Well, it would have been a great lie-in, BUT!!!! But Gavstar's other daughter rang at 7.15am to wish him a happy birthday! So much for a birthday sleep-in ;-)

Anyhoo, while he was distracted on the phone I was able to sneak out to the boot of the car where I was hiding his gift - a year's supply of mixed lollies.

A couple of weeks ago, I'd spent HOURS packaging up 52 bags of mixed lollies, then putting a birthday card into each bag to help him celebrate the lead up to his Big 5-oh next year. Boy Wonderful wrote on some of the cards - all reasons why he thinks Gavstar rocks, and I wrote on the rest. You'd think that writing 52 birthday cards would take AGES, but really, bagging the lollies took way longer.

Today I am thankful for the look on Gavstar's face when he opened the box. The smile lasted all day.
