June 15 - 21

2008.06.15
June 15: We returned to Perth by bus, putting Bebe in her car seat. Her "Goddess On Board" sticker got a few looks!

June 16: After more than a week away from home, it was time to stock up on a few necessities... I've never had so much shopping as today, with this little giggler in the trolley.

June 17: Boy Wonderful has been selected into "zones" cricket (one level below State level). His briefing was held in the Boundary Room at the WACA this evening. I got shivers thinking that it's only a matter of years and god/dess willing, I'll be a regular fixture in rooms like this around Australia (and the world!) as I watch my son fulfil his dream.

June 18: Vaughan and his bride dropped in on their way to Adelaide where they're moving to start "real life" as husband and wife.

June 19: Wellllll, we said we wouldn't establish bad habits by bringing baby into the bed with us, but heck, she's so at home here!

June 20: THE PLANS HAVE GONE INTO SHIRE FINALLY!!!!! Hopefully it's only a couple of weeks before we get a building license and we can knock the current house down to start building the all-new, eco-friendly, solar-passive, you-beaut dream home :-))))

June 21: Went for a big walk to the outdoor gym with a neighbour's daughter. I noticed she was starting to lag on the way home, so got her to stand on the pram's foot rest and hang on the handle. Pushing two girls instead of one gave me a real workout!

-------

I feel like we have made huge inroads -- FINALLY we have submitted our new house plans to Shire for a building license. Wow, it's all seeming so real now!

This week I learned:

* If you send a 14yo to ask the bus driver to turn the air-conditioning down, the bus driver will only tell him to put on a jumper;
* Shopping is miles of fun with a giggling baby in the trolley;
* Glimpses of the future send shivers down my spine;
* Some kids find it hard to grow up;
* A bed with a baby in it is never to big;
* The details are in the planning, but the planning is in Shire!
* Don't over-estimate how far a 10-year-old can walk before she has to hitch a ride on the pram
