August 10 - 16: Finding Perfect Balance

2008.08.10
August 10: oooooh, just lovin' the big hunk a spunky Blaze (who I suspect should have been born a dolphin).

August 11: I was *trying* to feed the Little Star when she took the spoon from me and promptly stuck it in her eye. (Then looked at me like it was my fault!)

August 12: Doesn't every family have a "no walking on the table at dinner time" rule?

August 13: AT LAST! 60-something days into my daily Wii Fit challenge, I've struck the perfect balance in my posture. It kills me that the programmers of Wii Fit have thought of little details like spelling "centre" correctly for the Australian market, yet they didn't think about the seasons -- every so often the Fit-Board character says "it's very hot at this time of year..." If you ever want to see a grown woman going beserk at a TV screen, come around to my place and watch my reaction to this statement...

August 14: This is our bathroom window, courtesy of a cricket ball that Boy Wonderful put through it several months ago. We didn't bother fixing it because we had intended to demolish the house months ago. Today I got out of the shower and realised how lovely it looks when the sun is shining in through the hole.

August 15: Boy Wonderful's school photo came home today. He is very upset that his fringe makes it look as though he has a monobrow. Thankfully he has a wonderful sense of humour though, and wasn't offended when Gavstar and I fell about laughing.

August 16: When we arrived at the farm this morning we found we have only three chooks left (out of a dozen). This was enough incentive for Gavstar to get out the rifle and head out to the bush with our visitors, including a 7-year-old and his toy fox. The irony of fox-hunting with a toy fox along for the ride was lost on little Olly.

.
Had another great week with the family, and making in-roads with my personal fitness levels. Emotionally and spiritually I'm in tip-top shape, just gotta get physically well also and I'm a "Ten" all round :-)

This week I learned such things as:

* My dog should have been born a dolphin.
* Baby's gonna be an "I do it!" girl.
* Rules can be broken for babies.
* Perfect balance is possible.
* Just as every cloud has a silver lining, every broken window has a shard of light.
* Some photos should not be printed.
* Innocence is when you can take your toy fox along for a fox-hunting expedition.
