Aug 24 - 30: Book Launch

2008.08.24
August 24: Boy Wonderful returned to Perth via chopper, while the two princesses had to travel in their regular pumpkin coach.

August 25: Another Monday, another day of "Pram Fit" - kind of like boot camp for mums and their bubbas. How does an exercise-phobe stay motivated? I'm on a mission to fit into a particular dress in time for the big four-oh, only six weeks away.

August 26: the Little Star looooves her doggess-sister Mindy, and her big blister Ricci.

August 27: Normally when I fold the washing it's all about BOY stuff. Today I got to the bottom of the basket and was reminded yet again how wonderful it is to have a little girl... her tiny green socks literally added colour to my day.

August 28: At last! My 6th book has been birthed! It's called Sacred Vigilance, Wide-Awake Meditation, and is a stunningly simple way for people with busy lives and heads to meditate. I picked my allocation of books up from the printer today, and did my first book reading this evening in Balmain. It rocked!

August 29: I'm emcee'ing Scott Alexander King's certified course for the next three days at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney. The bird show that we watched today was absolutely world class. I particularly enjoyed the Dreamtime story that the birds performed at the start of the show. Spectacular.

August 30: Emcee'ing on stage in a 300-pax theatre was FUN!

.
From a relaxing weekend with Gav's plane parked out the front and his mate's helicopter parked around the side, we felt like we were visiting an alternate reality -- does our place really look like a millionaire's playground (as a friend suggested)? Well, yes it does! That's why it felt like an alternate reality, ha ha.

A busy weekend, with me flying to Sydney to launch my newest book and to emcee a big event at the Taronga Zoo. As such, I barely had time to breathe this week, but I still learned such things as:

* Whether they're 5 or 50, boys still leave expensive toys lying around the yard;
* The best way to balance the scales is to balance the approach to weight-loss: food, fitness and FUN;
* There is no such thing as an age gap when two sisters get together;
* It is easy for little things colour my day;
* Breathe deeply before public speaking to deliver a strong message;
* We don't have to travel far to enjoy world-class entertainment;
* Emcee'ing is fun!
