Jan 7 - 11: Full moon rising

2009.01.07
Jan 7: the pizza oven has been getting a daily workout since we arrived at the farm on 22 Dec. That's almost three weeks of daily pizza. The Little Star has become very adept at eating it, (and the dog has worked out where his easiest source of free food is - under Star's chair!)

Jan 8: the twilight colours in Australia are stunning -- this is what we get to absorb each evening as we sit on the deck and cook more freaking pizza.

Jan 9: Twilight colours may be gorgeous, but daytime colours can be harsh. On a visit to the beach today with Aunty Janet we all baked! Star wasn't too happy about going into the water (again), but like the trooper she is, she didn't drop her chip once... a bit like how her mama hangs onto a champagne glass.

Jan 10: These two little tree-lings were just avocado pips in April last year. Which means the gestation period of an avocado tree is roughly the same as a human baby.

Jan 11: This is the MOON rising. Looks like the sun, but it's the FULL MOON on my camera setting of "night landscape".

Wow what an amazing full moon we had this week - the biggest one this year ;-) As I documented in this photo journal in April last year, I stuck a couple of avocado pips in a pot and have been gently nurturing the green leaves that popped up. Today I planted the two tree-lings in the garden where I hope they'll provide us with many years of shade and yummy avocados.
