Jan 17: We waited three years to get our pizza oven. Once it was in, we realised we needed a bigger deck to cater for all the people that are coming to enjoy the oven with us! So, Gavstar scrounged some wood from his shed and off he went, with a deck extension, all before I'd had my first coffee!

Jan 18: Over the xmas break, we played Kelly Pool quite a bit with our various guests. We didn't have a "14" button in the bottle so used the number "16" button instead. Later, I found the "14" button on the floor of the lounge. So I put it back in the bottle thinking, "yay, now we have a complete set"... The next day I found the same button back on the loungeroom floor. What the? Thinking it a bit strange, I put it back in the bottle again. The following day, I found the same button YET AGAIN. For the third time, I put it back in the bottle, and this time told Gavstar what was going on. He went inside to shake the bottle and see if there were any holes in it (apart from the opening!), when he nearly stepped on the number "7" button sitting on the floor. Two days later, he found the "7" button AGAIN. Again, WHAT THE...? What is the meaning of finding these 2 numbers together? I was reminded of this story when I went for coffee with a friend this morning. She got "number 7" table marker, while I got... NUMBER 14. Please please please, if you are a numerologist and reading this, please, give me a clue!
Update: This is from Patrice at Women-at-heart.com: All I can offer is what I know from my tarot studies. In the Thoth deck, 14 is the Art card. In my teachings, this is the card that represents integration, unification of opposites. It deals with how we find our own balance and create our own unique recipe for life. The 7 card is the Chariot, representing change -- considering and making changes that support and nurture us. It also speaks to the balance between doing and being, and setting something new into motion that will create more wholeness.

Jan 19: Gran made the Little Star a pair of overalls to save her knees when (if!) she starts crawling. Star had other ideas and instead wanted to skip that crawling business and go straight to standing. The other night we went to the club and I tied a helium balloon to Star's wrist so that patrons would see her commando crawling around the floor and not step on her. When I saw these overalls I mentioned to Gran that they might do the same trick as the balloon -- get her noticed! lol

Jan 20: We're living in the country at the moment, with only four channels: the ABC, SBS, GWN and WIN. Not one of them were broadcasting the inauguration of Barack Obama. Today I was EXTREMELY grateful for broadband so that I could watch this historic event streamed live over the internet.

Jan 21: Yay, Boy Wonderful is flying back in this evening. My darling man flew to Perth to pick him up. A flying taxi service... Lucky boy!

While America gets its first REAL president in years, we're making history of our own... a deck extension, a baby who has discovered standing, and an addiction to Mob Wars. They may be small things, especially when you compare it to, say, the inauguration of a president, but they're OUR small things, one of many that make our daily life so special and meaningful.
