Jan 27: Good on ya Boy Wonderful... thinking it was safe to remove his helmet while wicket-keeping for a spin bowler, he copped a ball in the eye and learned a valuable lesson -- wear a helmet or his mama will blacken the other eye too.

Jan 28: I wanted the Little Star to play outside with her brother for a bit... so that she wouldn't disrupt his backyard cricket game, he simply put her behind his catcher's net where she would be safe from rogue smashes.

Jan 31: Baby nearly killed herself this afternoon while trying to stick a running hose down her throat. She learned some respect for it pretty quickly.

What a scorcher this week - HOT AS! Struggled to remain "grateful" when the air-conditioning went on the blink and it was all I could do to function with the head spins and suffering baby. Nevertheless, there were some highlights during the week:
* Boy Wonderful's black eye made him feel a bit special;
* Finally got around to giving BW his belated birthday present - a crazy catcher so he can practice his catches using this instead of thump-thump-thumping the ball against the house;
* Picked up one of the two journals I sent to print this month - HOT!
