Feb 1 - 5: Back to school scorcher

Feb 1: Boy Wonderful was off me for making him ride his bike to school. First day of Year 10 and he said he arrived with spots before his eyes and sweat dripping off him by the bucket full. Poor luv. I remember when I was going through school that the first week back was always in the 40s. Will make an effort to drive him when I can.

Feb 2: The eye specialist who saw BW after his cricketing accident last week rang to make sure I'd followed up with his referral to have a scan. I hadn't, so made the effort to get into the stinking hot car and take BW for a cat scan. We had a little laugh at the plethora of signs pointing to Reception so took this photo to signify the shared laughter. Had to shake my head in disbelief when we got the news that he has a hairline fracture in his nose... Kind of reminded me of the time he was five and broke his arm but I didn't take him to the doctor for four days... poor luvvy endures a lot hey?

Feb 4: We had our first baby in our playgroup to turn one year old, and so had a party for him this morning. It's the Little Star's turn in a couple of weeks - VERY hard to believe how quickly this last year has gone.

Feb 5: Too hot to cook so we went to our favourite Thai restaurant where the LS giggled and gurgled her way through the entire meal. She was rewarded with big smooches from her dadda on her adorable chubba cheeks.

Summer is in FULL SWING, and in typical back-to-school fashion, it's scorching hot. I'm sweltering in my facial pressure bandages and the air-con is on the blink. Gavstar's away and it's too hot to cook. Baby's not sleeping and neither am I.
It sounds like I'm whining, but actually, for every hardship I'm finding silver linings... above all, I'm deliriously happy that we're safe, we're healthy, we're patient with each other when tempers could be short, we're outdoors at twilight, and we're eating out :-)
