Feb 11 - 15: Romance and reality

2009.02.11
Feb 11: With the gorgeous evenings we're having at the moment it's a shame not to use them for outdoor picnics and sunset viewing. Had an awesome family-night-out at the Rossmoyne foreshore this evening. The romantic setting was juxtaposed with the reality of crappy Chinese food and a stinking shaggy wet dog. All good!

Feb 12: It's all romantic and wonderful to have babies, but the reality is that we have "humans". They're babies for just a short time, then they grow up and need taxi'ing everywhere. While on one such taxi mission, and while waiting (waiting, waiting, waiting) for Boy Wonderful to pack up his cricket gear, I realised that I'll be running children to school for 26 years straight. Now that's a sobering thought.

Feb 13: Is this baby normal? She LOVED having the water mister sprayed over her face.

Feb 14: Valentine's Day... Romantic setting, check. Romantic movie, check. Romantic dinner, errrrm, a lack of gluten-free options at the Burswood outdoor cinema meant my Valentine's Day meal was a box of popcorn.

Feb 15: Cousin Bec caught up with us in Perth today, and seeing as it was stinking hot we took the girls to a little paddle beach in East Perth. They would have played there all day had we let them.

With Valentine's Day looming, it was a week of romantic interludes. I say interludes because there were also plenty of "reality" moments too - when I realised my life is about taking kids to school for 26 years in a row, for example.
