March 8 - 12: My Cate Blanchett moment

2009.03.08
March 8: The wild women swam and frolicked in the sparkling waters of the Serpentine Falls. Afterwards we sat on the rocks and wrote letters to our inner wild woman. Inspired by my fave philosopher, I wrote: To my inner wild woman: Shamana Wildernest. She of a thousand colours, limitless hues, tones and shades. She of ragged starbursts and spontaneous snoozes, guerilla acts of altruism, and wild yearnings for mother earth love. I intend for you uninhibited happiness, endless giggles and warmth, unbreakable connection with the mother matrix, and may you live as erringly 'out' as you do within.

March 9: Wild Woman Weekend is over for another year, and it's time for Lucy and me to sit, discuss, digest and dream... all before putting her on a plane.

March 10: Sat, delighted, through all 8 hours of the play War of the Roses today. (Four acts, 2 hours each). With Cate Blanchett owning the stage (see how illuminating she is in the above pic?!) and captivating the audience, the 8 hours flew by.

Proof that heels are good for me: the doorman noticed me ogling the play's poster and said, "she's only as tall as you are, you know."

Well, I'm 5'2" and found it difficult to believe that the goddess on stage was just a midget like me. So I went home and googled her height (5 ft 8.5 in according to several sources)... Therefore... apparently heels make me appear 6 inches taller than I actually am.

March 11: Gavstar and his daughter left early this morning under the guiding light of the full moon to drive across the Nullarbor. Had many many many recollections today of my own road-trip across the desert, back in the days when I was a single gal driving a 2-door coupe.

March 12: At LONG LAST! The body cast Gavstar and I made way back last February is finally in a state fit to be hung.

------------
Sooooo cranky and tired this week after the marathon effort organising and managing the Wild Woman Weekend... I decided to withdraw from being a WAH Goddess and immerse myself into some 5-star theatre for a while. "For a while" being the key words... I spent eight hours enthralled by pure genius and joy, watching Cate Blanchett own the stage in the Sydney Theatre Co's production of War of the Roses.
