April 12 - 16: Outdoor girl and the garden makeover

2009.04.12
April 12: Gavstar continued working on the deck extension today, and had the help of a little T.A... She was pretty good until she kept nicking off with all his pencils.

April 13: I've been working 24/7 (well it feels like it!) getting my book ready for print. Time for some procrastination. Ah, I mean, productivity. Outside in the fresh air. With paint, a paintbrush... and a beautiful butterfly who flew into my paint pot just as I was about to start. After squealing for about five minutes, I gave the beautiful little thing a burial in a spot where I'll be able to see from the deck and be reminded of the fleetingness of life.

April 14: Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover? Which cover?

April 15: It was loooovelllyyyyy to get away from the computer and down to the Club for a beer'n'burger. The Little Star fit perfectly under our high table, with a little ledge that she quickly used as her own private table. Princess in da house!

April 16: Spent six hours in the garden today, SWEATING, trying to build a herb garden with nothing but determination and a long-handled shovel. And all I've got to show for it is this little patch of tarragon. I think it's tarragon, anyway. For all I know I spent all that effort just transplanting some weeds.

------------------------

Discovered this week that the Little Star is an outdoor girl. She's also a cracker Trady's Assistant, gung-ho face-slammer and sweet flower-picker. Had a busy week getting my book to print AND organising a garden makeover ready for the party next week. I'm exhausted!
