May 15 - 19: My name is Anita and I'm a Yes-Voter
2009.05.15
May 15: This is only a portion of the mail-out I did today. My new book was delivered this morning and I spent the whole day signing books, packing them, addressing them then carting the whole lot to the post office. BIG JOB!

May 16: Stopped in at the local primary school on our way to the farm today. Apparently it was a voting place for the daylight savings referendum. Normally when I set up my photos I look for a reference point to tell the story of the photo. So when I looked for a sign that said "voting" (or anything along those lines) I thought I'd found it when I saw a free-standing sign in the distance. I sent Boy Wonderful ahead to take the shot... he took it anyway, despite the sign being a "disabled parking" sign. Oh well, at least it was a sign! LOL

May 17: Spent a bit of time this afternoon setting up the pole for Gavstar's new windsock. We all wrote our names in the concrete footing, even the Little Star.

May 18: Risked another Monday morning on the road back to Perth, but set off a bit earlier this time in the hope that the plethora of elderly drivers would still be enjoying their tea and toast at this time. The reward for getting up early was witnessing this sunrise. Also got the news that Wozzies voted NO to daylight savings, so savoured this sunrise all the more – now that sunrise is going to be pre-5am in the summer now, I'm 100% unlikely to see them again!

May 19: Yesterday, the Little Star's new word was "na na na na" (banana). I said, "yeah! banana!" She said, "yeah! na na na na." Today her new word is "basss" (bath). So cute!

-----------------
After three glorious years of daylight savings in Western Australia, we went to the polls this weekend to cast our vote. I voted YES to progress, YES to life, and YES to daylight savings.
Sadly, it seems the native Wozzies are yet to see the light as for the third time they voted NO.
Sigh... I just can't understand why they don't want to take advantage of the beautiful summer evenings by enjoying the time outdoors... it's becoming clearer they prefer life on the dark side.
PS. The next entry (May 20 - 24) will mark the end of my 2nd year of doing this project – I will have been taking a daily photo for two years straight!
