May 30 - June 3: Busy business

2009.05.30
May 30: The Little Star now knows exactly where Gramps keeps his lolly jar. Today she strode into their kitchen, straight to the bench where he hides the jar, pointed at it, looked at him and demanded, "taaa, taaaa." And he's trying to tell me he's only given her one or two before.

May 31: On our little bike ride today I noticed a dove in the sky. On closer inspection (which was warranted - the bird wasn't moving!) I realised it was a cloud. It's a bit blurry now as it took a bit of work to get my camera out of my pocket, but anyway, I still take it as a sign to breathe, relax, think peace.

June 1: Seems I have a little bird whisperer on my hands. While we pack away the plane we give the Little Star something to munch on. Today she shared her snacks with a friendly magpie.

June 2: Gavstar took me out to dinner tonight - my last night in WA for 10 days. Doing our usual check under the Little Star's chair before we left, I was pleased to see she's improving!

June 3: Have decided to move Boy Wonderful into the sleep-out, and Gavstar's office into our huge bedroom. We were supposed to be in this rental short-term, after all, and as it's turning out to be way longer than expected, it's only fair that BW gets his own bedroom now. Had a massive clear-out to make way for the bedroom furniture to fit in! All this PRIOR to my flight!

-----------------

Oh freak out, what a busy week! In the lead-up to my departure to Melbourne for my book launch (a 10-day affair, thank you!), followed by a 24-hour turnaround for a five-day trip to the outback, followed by a 24-hour turnaround to put Boy Wonderful on a plane to England, followed by a three-day turnaround to get on a plane to Brisbane myself, for a month... I am exhausted just thinking about it let alone preparing for it! Needless to say, after all this I plan to SLEEP!
