In the front garden

2008.07.18
Lichens can be so colourful. Beautiful tiny things.

The wattles are out in force right now. Large trees a mass of yellow. Spectacular.

This is a banksia about to open and flower...

And here's one in flower on the same bush. In a few months time, there will be lots of these, and they are just mobbed by bees and ants and other insects.

Some of last year's gumnuts and some new ones getting ready to flower. From memory, these ones will be yellow. I'll photograph them again when they flower later in the year.

These tiny plants are carnivorous. Woe betide any bugs that step on them. The plants are sticky, and set about dissolving whatever sets foot on them. ugh!

It's been cold and damp and overcast for weeks... not much fun outside. I took camera and tripod out this afternoon anyway... and ended up hurrying in when it started to rain on me!
