when I was a teenager...

... this is where I loved to go...

This print was torn on the rhs side... even so, I'm sure that many of the photos I've taken lately will have been lost to the vagaries of hard discs sooner than this print made 36 years ago has become torn. And I still have the negatives - somewhere in a tin trunk in my brother's garage. (Thanks Mike!)

Something odd happened with the scanner settings - but I kind of like the result!

There's a bit of dust on the negative here - glass negative carriers were not easy to keep clean.

I was a keen photographer - anything I came across was photographed. I used to process and print my own photos in the darkroom that my dad helped me build in the house, and mum coped with the place reeking of stop bath and fixer... I've been unearthing some of these prints lately and scanning them. I'm saving for a negative scanner. I'll share more as I find them. Looking at them I see a very different way of working than now. Using prime lenses meant that I was more "in the thick of things" than now when I have become a bit slack and have come to rely too much on the power of a zoom lens. It shows, I'm afraid. I want to use more film again. I'm sure it will improve my photography.

These prints were made about 36 years ago. (Don't say it!)

Saipanhohhot A lot of skill, and patience, went into producing these wonderful pictures/memories. All too soon this could become another "lost" art...please pass it on if you can.
