evening escape to St Kilda

Our (as in Melbournians regard it as belonging to them collectively) recently rebuilt restaurant at the end of the pier. The original was about 100 years old, and was destroyed by fire one night. This new one is almost identical to the old one.

This salon seems to have been visited by some aliens in need of a hairdo. They might learn to park more carefully in future.

We like to go to the beach some evenings when we're staying in the city. There are some great coffee and cake shops in this area open till all hours. This evening there were several jazz groups playing on the footpaths. Just too dark to photograph them without flash which would have disturbed them. These shots are all hand held so they're a bit soft even though they were taken at 800 asa.

Jazz and coffee are my favorite. Love shooting during dusk too. What a nice series. Great color !

i remember st kilda from the 60s; i guess it has changed a bit ?
