Not much wrong with it...

so my brother said this afternoon, showing me his latest treasure... he is the master of understatement though! I know he can see a shiny, restored car there. I just need clearer vision... This car will be transformed fairly soon, I'm sure. The white Alfetta at the bottom of the page is one of his earlier projects. It's very competitive now.

My nephew has just bolted on a set of carburettors (there weren't any there when the remains were dragged home on the trailer... even the front guards blew off on the highway on the way! No-one was hurt.) to see if the engine will run. Need to clear a few fuel lines first.. and feed it from a can... the fuel tank will be full of watery goo at this stage.

Not easy to see, but these tyres have been severely peeled - as in melted and shredded - earlier today at the Philip Island circuit. Flying around the track at twice the highway limit does that to tyres, it seems. Yet the car looks so unassuming on the road.
You can see it in action a few weeks ago: http://youtube.com/watch?v=SBX6mRLx9Kg
My nephew has a camera mounted for and aft to go over what he does to see where he can improve.
The blue triangle shows the location of the battery in case of an accident on the track.

My brother loves Alfa Romeos. So does his son, who, though he does not yet have his license, is putting in very respectable lap times at the Sandown and Philip Island circuits in club events. He is racing the white car - which is registered for the road.
