Mum Run Off With A Piano Teacher

2008.09.20
Her Bedroom I

Her Bedroom II

Once, when I still worked as a psychologist, I went to one of those mind numbing workshops; you know the american style "how can i smile through my greeted teeth" type of a thing (DISCLAIMER: no offense intended. It's just that you can't train dark slavic souls to be positive. I mean, we are realists and world is not as peachy as they want us to believe - although it has its rare moments).

Anyway, there was this wacky music therapist seating next to me. I counted that she rolled her eyes more times than I did when requested to perform. So, after the thing finished I asked her to come out for a dinner with me. She was from the city the workshop thing was in, I lived 2 hours away. After some basic fare and good number of beers she said, "why don't you stay in my place tonight?". Even for Yugoslav standards that was pretty forward considering we met only a couple of hours ago.

We stayed up all night long, laying on her bed with a beer in one hand and a big fat joint in another, watching Sviatoslav Richter, one of the most amazing pianist of all time. Looking at his hands move with the speed of light. Feeling safe in a strangers house. Feeling like this world is not a bad place to be in.

P.S Which famous Irish writers mother run off with her piano teacher? I'll send the first one who guesses one of my prints, any they want.

ClaudePechabaden I know what you mean about the workshops :( Been at some like that before, and the books too... Some good in it. Something nearly similar happened to me in a lady in the underground who seemed very talkative and invited me to her flat...To then realize whay she wanted out of me...Was no other than come to one of her flat events when she sells things and sets up the flat as a little market stall! Yes, I suppose this world isn't a bad one to be in... But what about Mum running off with a piano player??!!

dae88 I'm still wondering why you would disqualify a chicken just because you know it

etodd80 Dang, I'm too late to be the winner...I didn't know the answer anyway. Pretty funny comments on your post. Awesome story! I like #2.

jenjung I stopped going to stuff like that - why torture myself? : ) I think I like the first one cause it kind of has that old-timey look to it. I'm glad it turned out to be a pretty good night : )

ainhoator This is great!

And YES, it was this kind of bullshit only that it was even more boring. It dealt with patents and author rights...An absolute joy killer.

I absolutely love Sviatoslav! Did you read his biography?

ainhoator This kind of carefree late night fraternity seems somehow dostoievskian...in a nice kind of way. Did you keep in touch with the music therapist?
