Flee, Flee This Sad Hotel

Me Me Me

Keats identified a tragic hero as an individual unable to see that life has its impossibilities... like Blanche in 'A Streetcar Named Desire" - unable to renounce the image of herself as a rare being and unable to accept the "blisses of the commonplace".

Don't all artist fall into that category?

Mabi938 Accept the "blisses of the commonplace" means to unexist for artists when they look at another one. Even if to create they need to live in the commonplace, to smell it, to touch it. Then their product tell their cries.
Artistly thoughts.

makaid Some artists probably do fall into this category. But I think there are many artists, who realize they are not as rare as they would hope, and that almost nothing is truly original.

iasmax Lovely photographer lovely model ...

stormfish now, the title, the picture and the text seem to be completely unrelated, but knowing what a interweaved mind you have, that is probably impossible.

can you return the courtesy of telling me the story behind this (aside of shameless self promotion, of course)?

gderuiter I love the timelessness of this photograph. It is utterly feminine; utterly powerful.
gderuiter · 2008-12-04: 13:17
MeusCorpus I think that there is originality in everything, even cliched work has something of the artist, however small or large.

I love your work and I think you are truly blessed to be such a talented photographer and beautiful model at the same time.
MeusCorpus · 2008-12-04: 13:53
dhulsmeyer i really like the setting and pose and how the bright light in the window makes it look all washed out. it appeals to me. you sure look pretty.

yellodog to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell; my blessing season this in thee!

TheBigHush Yes and no... does a realist ever a true artist make?

Whether we all live in a glass cage or not, sometimes like Sexton herself, there is simply no other place to flee to.

But I being an eternal pragmatist... what do I know about art?

ps. oh and a brilliant picture btw
TheBigHush · 2008-12-05: 19:31
