Festival del Tambor / part 1: Wamazo

2007.02.28

I've missed you guys soo much...

I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music.

-Billy Joel-

Last sunday was the closure of the fourth Drum and african culture festival :D Festival del tambor...
It was great, very good music..it was worth the 5 hours under the sun and the crowd.

I went only to the concert at Plaza de laConstitucion, but there was a Carnaval it started at 10:30 am and ended at 1pm when they arrived downtown.

I'll post one group each day, so many shots so little time ...jaja silly me.

Wamazo

First group, mexican...great..great..loved them... lots. Took a hell lot of shots (350) buuut there were these two guys infront that wouldnt stop moving, I wouldnt have minded If they had been dancing...they were just chatting!! ggrrr so I ended up with lots o' pics with their hair or hands :-S Another thing that was really bothering was the smoke- tobacco's and marihiana's--coff coff-yikes hate people blowing their smoke on me...great music...racatata tum tum...

Anyway, the music wasoutrageous, the musicians had fun, played great , real pros...lots of fun and dancing. Mexico has really good musicians even if they are not properly recognized.
