Ground Zero - New York, April 2004

Elsewhere on this blog I have posted a shot taken back in June 2001 of the World Trade Centre taken from the Staten Island Ferry.

After the evets of that day in September I really wanted to go back to New York. I already had "unfinished business" with the city anyway, and after being as shocked as most others of what happened to my fave city, I needed to go back.

I was glad to see a New York that was "getting on with things". The area around Ground Zero was horrific to see knowing what had stood there before.

I took this photo to remind myself of what the area looked like now (or at least at the time when I was back in the city). To look back in years to come when it has been redeveloped and to remember.

I aim to return again to New York when there is a new complex of buildings standing there.
