Living in Shropshire you would think I would be out snapping the glorious countryside around me. Sadly, I seem to overlook what's right in front of my face and like travelling miles to photograph other places and people.

I started taking pictures in my late teens, because I have a shocking memory and found that the easiest way to cement my experiences were to look back over pictures taken.

After several "point and shoot" compact cameras I invested in a Pentax SLR and was off and running when I went to college - I ended up being asked to document student life in Tamworth College by the powers that be for their records.

The Pentax was finally retired after 14 years service for it's nasty little upstart - a compact digital Canon! I swore I would never succumb to digital, that it was the playground of the dummies and the box of tricks for those unable to "compose a shot" and have to run home and "photoshop and correct their snaps"!

Sadly, the times, they are a changing.... and I grudgingly handed over a few hundred quid, took off for Washington DC and snapped away - when I came home I was blown away with the clarity and ease with which I had captured DC.

Now, I dont leave home without my clever, sexy, wicked, tecchy, silver little friend!

The point of joining this was to share my pics, all will be full frame as I believe you should compose "in camera". Im not really after critique, its just my little corner of the web where I can put my memories and maybe others might like the images I created too.

Enjoy....

I like the detail and colour within the marble! I dont know how you manage to find such interesting stuff to photograph!
just look around, and think if i did that what would it look like, i do take lots of other stuff that i don't post because it is not very good, it is just basically trial and error!!

Fab! Am I supposed to find this amusing?!!!
Thanks. Only the first picture was joking. I felt quite serious in the others - it meant something to me to become this character.

Nice shot - very imaginative - what was the book about?!
This is the life and work of Robert Burns. It was published in 1840.
