I say it again: my daughter went on a trip to Britain with her class...Just a simple sentence...and still there is such a deep meaning in this sentence.
20 years ago NOBODY in my country would even dream about going to Britain just like that....
I am so grateful that my children did not grow up behind the iron curtain like I did. They have seen so much of the world in their young lives, they love to travel, but hey, no big deal.....
Me? I am still grateful. I still feel so proud and happy to be able to say: my daughter went to Britain , just for a few days, you know, with her class, no big deal actually....
P.S .And she had so much fun and made great photos:))

Dear Marie - first let me tell you that myson IS in Britain with his class andwe hope they will catch a flight back tomorrow with this mysterious cloud over Europe ! :-) Yes, I feel with you very much as I remember my first trip to Prague at harder tiimes - when a friend marroed a girl from Prague and she couldn`t come with him but 2 years later!!!They are still an "old" couple. Europe is great!

let me add some "male" reminiscence. My club took part for years in a handball tournament in Prague between 78 and 85. And I am sorry but the only thing that I remember is that one could eat a complete dinner and get drunk with less then 10 German Marks But your daughter made gorgeous photos. And my son just was for a 2 weeks practical training in Romania. Yes Europe has it´s weaknesses but it is great

Looks like Hana is taking after mom with those great photos! Marie, this post touched my heart, because people today don't know the world that I grew up in - and certainly not the one YOU were raised in! These are great images, but the story made the post!

Wow. Your daughter went on a trip to Britain.. She's so lucky to have the chance as you said. I have never travelled that far while I was at school. And the photos are really cool. You need to show her the Featured Photo of today. Congrats to your Hana.

It might not be your daughter on that first shot, thank God, but an excellent FP photo it mad! I know exactly what you mean about "just going to Britain".by the way. I, too, grew up behind the iron curtain and it was an achievement of a lifetime if you could go there at all... Congrat for FP!

oh dear, Marie, you anticipate me with your subtitle in the first ;-)) so hilarious! Make my compliments to your daughter for hes nice photos I enjoyed. (Maybe we are the same age... but I've no kids and no husband. We are another generation, but at 19 I was already working abroad -here in Europe- to learn languages and meet different cultures I'm still interested in so much. It's good to travel with an open mind and heart, ready to LEARN, SHARE and EXCHANGE. I do hope your daughter keeps on travelling if she likes :-) Much congrats on FP ! and thanks for sharing.

super shots! congrads! you're right!!! nowadays people go to everyone on school! I could go to London too, but i've only known about it too late. my classmates went also to norway on an exchange programe for 1 week ... gosh, this is very good, because sometimes we cannot have those opportunities soon :p me, I've a terrible will of travel to every where.. i think when i get older, i'll work to travel.. :)
