You don´t get to fill them with your favorite colors.
(Khaled Hosseini:The Kite Runner)

Family vacation. Every year I wonder, if our children will be willing to spend a week with their old parents...you know, with no internet, no friends, just the four of us. Every year I wonder if this is the last year...I enjoy their company, because during the year there is not so much time for longer conversations without distractions. So I cherish this week and I admit, my children surprise me over and over...I look at them and wonder: how is it possible, that these two interesting young people were todlers a couple of weeks ago? Did I really taught them to speak, to eat with a spoon, to walk? ...We wish the best for our children, all parents do....yet the path they chose is theirs. ...and there is so little I can do.....just love them , unconditionaly, that´s all.

It is that simple.

RayNvb You share thoughts all of us parents have had. Lead them to the right path and let them go. That path will have many intersections and their choice in direction will always be correct. Being secure in your unconditional love, they will always look to you as their GPS, if doubt overshadows confidence,

djnana We thought the same thing about our children for years, but now that they're grown with children of their own, they still want us to go on vacation with them. So hold tight - they never break all the strings!! That first shot is fabulous and perfect for your theme/idea today.

And thanks for liking my garden post of day lilies.

Jarvo Wise words.

MelanieO I feel the same about my sons. Now that they are older, they are much more interested in their mother than they were when they were teens.

jenkija Love your theme, your offspring's childhoods are gone in the blink of an eye (even though it doesn't seem like it at the time)....welcome back.
