St Procopius Basilica in Třebíč built in 1230. It is a triple-choired, three-aisled basilica . Beneath the east end and the presbytery, there is a crypt with pointed rib vaults. The basilica is built from granite and sandstone. It is a magic place with a very special atmosphere....

and it is FORBIDDEN to take pictures there....I really did not intend to break the rule...but somehow..it happened...

An amazing set Marie. What a structure! Love the colored light coming through the windows in 5 & 6. That rule does not apply to PBers. If you would have taken the time to read the small print on the back of the sign, you would have seen that. ;)))

Anyway, it's probably more of a guideline...

I'm glad you did. I may never get to see Třebíč in real life, but at least I can admire the architecture at a distance. 3 and 4 are especially good. I'm glad I could see that roof.

It saddens me that church authorities are so precious about their buildings, when in fact the majority of the labour was done buy ordinary people frequently under horrible conditions at a time when you might have been burned as a witch for suggesting that a little black box was capable of capturing images. The labours of those people should be free to view by everyone, whether they have the time/money to travel or not.
