This sunday I went with two freinds to a fair on the mountain of Medvednica above Zagreb... After two full hours of walking up the autumn-adorned slope we reached or goal at last.
Surely there were buses driving up, but we forfeited the thought and had a really nice walk.
It is a marvellous thing... the fair was in medieval ambience: everyshop owner dressed in long-sleeved dresses and hand-made jewelery. There was a performance, a play of the noble sires of this realm, the dukes Zrinski. The valiant Petar Zrinski, who died for the freedom of his land, and his beautiful daughter (the girl playing it was not so fair) Jelena (in latin: Helena).
For a few hours we were back in the most romantic period of time... It might not be Rowena, Ivanhoe, Bois-Gilbert or Rebbeca, but still...
Thank you, Ines and Dora, for coming with me!
