This is Indian Balsam, (Impatiens) and it has become a terrible pest, spreading along waterways and damp places across the country. Did you notice that when you touch a ripe seed pod it explodes (great fun) but the seed spread so easily. According to DEFRA we are supposed to pull it up and destroy it when ever we come across it, but I have to admit, I think it is lovely!
