Ahh, it has been a long while since I've posted a photo.

Unfortunately, my camera is taking a turn for the worse. I have this one. I've had it for two years...maybe longer. I can't remember exactly. I kick myself for not getting the warranty for longer than a year.

The small screws that hold the swivel lcd screen in place popped out. The cover with the Canon logo falls off if you turn the screen a certain way.

Now, I treat my camera with the care it deserves. It has a case, and is nestled snugly inside when not in use. When I do use my camera, it's like any other day. Turn it on. Flip the lcd screen out, but not violently, and begin my photo taking process.

So you see, the handling is not rough. Yet, these pesky little screws decided to fall out and run away to vegas together to get married.
At least that's what I assume.
Let's face it, there's no other logical reasoning here.

So anyway, to get the point, I'm too afraid to take any pictures for fear that it will become further damaged. Thus resulting in less than normal pictureage.
I have taken some, I'm just extremely lazy as of lately.
You can kick me for that.

I've decided that if I am to replace another of my cameras (one was lost long ago by the clumsy hands of children...RIP), I will get one that is durable and of professional quality.
This is pretty much an area I have little knowledge of. So, I was thinking maybe you guys could help inform me of what is out there. What equipment could I purchase to take my skills to the next level?
I hear about SLR, and I admit I haven't looked thoroughly into that. Any explaination as to what exactly you can do with those cameras would be of great help.
And any other information =)

As for today's picture...
This little guy is something I might try out on T-shirts. I only have four cutesy doodley guys so far. Hopefully boredom can conjure up some more.

Firefly A kumquat is a small, orange coloured, citrus fruit with a sweet skin and tart flesh.
And Choco is very friendly. Don't let the teeth fool you. =)

gavemyheart3162 I <3 my Sony CyberShot DSC-H1. And my mom, who used to have a Canon D-Rebel (she had it for about a year and a half, two months of which it was back at Canon for repairs, and then it broke again) also has a CyberShot... I think a DSC-H5. Not sure. Anyway, I don't know much about SLRs. My mom's Rebel was one, her Cybershot isn't, and it doesn't make much difference in her photos from what I can see. So I dunno.
