One of our newest club members, John J. took a bunch of photos and sent them to me. This is one of his. . . a view of one of the side-of-the-road stops.

Once in Greenville, first stop was lunch. . . at Mary of Puddin Hill. They had great food, buffet style and no one went away hungry. Thanks to John J. for the photo.
Another of John J. shots. . . this is the parking lot at Mary of Puddin Hill. After lunch many of us enjoyed the warm afternoon visiting and looking at all the cars.
This is club member Troy P. from Greenville. We don't see him often and he was waiting for us at Mary of Puddin Hill, although he had already eaten by the time we got there. I also got to meet Charles Arrington and his son Bob. Charles is also a club member that doesn't make it to Dallas very often. Thanks to Dane E. for the photo.

After lunch we went to the Audie Murphy Cotton Museum. You can't read it in this photo, but the little white sign says "Cotton Patch" - and that is a small patch of cotton in front of the building. Thanks to Robert J. for this photo.

Upon arriving at the hotel it's time to do some Tinkerin' in the parking lot. Pictured here is George's car, which I'm please to report was repaired and back on the road home under its own power on Sunday. There were some other issues that came up that the pouring of ice water on the engine cured. . . but that's another story!
This is Hugo R.'s Coupe. . . Now it's time for one of my favorite editor
games. . . can you guess who the hiney belongs to? Hint. . . pay attention to the denim and look at the hat! |
This one is pretty easy. . . the owner is under the car!
Thanks to John J. for the photo |
Sunday morning was beautiful. One of our stops was to a tractor collection. Thanks to John J. for the photo.
Here's a shot while rolling down the road. As most of you who know me, I'm famous for turning around - 180º in my seat in the Touring car and taking pictures. I'm afraid I've found this to be almost impossible in the Speedster, but this is one good shot that I got in trying.

On the square in Farmersville for lunch.
Lunch was at Sugar Hill. Another buffet, another GREAT meal. None of us on the trip could recall any tour that we have been on that all the food at every meal was really good. Glen & Martha outdid themselves this trip, maybe they will sign up to do Spring Tour next year?
(That's called wishful thinking!) Thanks again to John J. for the photo. |
Thanks to Robert J. for this lovely shot inside Sugar Hill. Not only was the restaurant open on Sunday, it's also an antique shop and there was another great shop two doors down.
Do you think Jimmy B. was buying auto parts this weekend from Porter's?
This is a beautiful picture of a stop we made on the way to Jim P.'s shop in Princeton. Thanks to John J. for the picture.
Like his Dad, Dom will try to drive anything! This was taken at Jim P.'s by John J.
We had a shopping pitstop at Lost Highway in Princeton. I couldn't believe the folks that were taking advantage of the soda fountain so soon after lunch!
Notice the denim and the hat? Hmmmmmm.
I love this picture, I'm going to have to get rid of the fire lane stripe and the neon sign in the window!
Photo of John J. by Robert J. This was John's first tour - he didn't have any problems (at least that we know of). . . and I heard he had a great time as did the rest of us.
Thanks again to Glen & Martha and all those that helped make this a great Tickey Creek Tour. Check back tomorrow for some of the outtake photos. . . |
